This year's Mutt Strut Dog Walk & Festival was a huge success! An estimated
5,000 animal lovers made it out to Sleepy Hole Park on a beautiful, sunny
day for our 3rd annual event and helped us raise over $55,000 to go towards
our efforts to end euthanasia as a means to control pet overpopulation!
Canines and their families enjoyed themselves as they participated in
the day's activities that included a "race the wind" contest,
agility demonstrations, a police K-9 demonstration, a Frosty Paws eating
contest, a canine costume contest, and children's face painting. Our four-legged
companions could also get free health screenings and ask a vet
questions at the Vet corner, go to the Rabies Clinic, or just meet and relax with their neighbors at
one of the many water stops throughout the park.
And the greatest news of all, some of the adoptable dogs brought to
the festival found their new families!
Suffolk Humane would like to thank everyone that came out to help
support the welfare of Suffolk's companion animals!
