Suffolk, Virginia-July 4, 2016 - Summer's in full swing, and there are lots of warm days ahead to enjoy walking your dog or staying cool inside cuddling with a kitty. Suffolk Humane Society and Suffolk Animal Care Center will sponsor several adopt-a-thons during these warm weather months and hope people will find a new best friend to create new memories with. Visit the PetSmart Charities Adoption Center at the Chesapeake Square PetSmart store, 4300 Portsmouth Blvd, Chesapeake, VA 23321 on July 9, August 27 and September 17 or stop by the PetSmart Charities Adoption Center at the North Suffolk PetSmart store, 6243 College Drive, Suffolk VA 23435 on July 10, August 28 and September 18 to see the wonderful pets available for adoption.  All events are from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m.

"There is nothing like the unconditional love a pet can offer, and there are so many loving pets available right now," said Lee Murphy, adoptions and foster director for Suffolk Humane. "We hope people will decide to add a new best friend from one to the many great pets available."

The Suffolk Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the welfare of companion animals in the community through sponsoring spay/neuter programs, placing homeless animals in loving permanent homes, and providing quality humane education with an emphasis on responsible pet ownership.
